Project Officer (Financial Sector) - Asian Development Bank - Pakistan

ADB is an international development finance institution whose mission is to help its developing member countries reduce poverty and improve the quality of life of their people.

They are currently looking to fill in the following key vacancy in Pakistan:

PROJECT OFFICER (FINANCIAL SECTOR)

JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the Central and West Asia Department (CWRD) in addressing ADB’s strategic objectives related to financial sector operations in Pakistan. The position will be in the Finance and Public Management (FM) Unit of PRM.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or management. Preferably with a Master’s degree.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
At least 5 years related work experience at progressive middle or senior levels in management in public or private sector entities specializing in areas related to financial sector
Experience in formulation of policies and programs related to financial sector reforms, SME development, economic diversification, competitiveness etc.
Good appreciation of Pakistan’s financial system and reform efforts in the above areas
Reasonable understanding of Pakistan Government’s and ADB procedures relating to planning and development, financial management, disbursement, procurement, recruitment of consultants, accounting and auditing
Demonstrated familiarity with universally acknowledged good management practices in the area of budgeting, contract administration and monitoring and evaluation
Familiarity with local languages and institutions
Demonstrated ability to network
Effective report writing and English communication skills
Strong conceptual skills and ability to identify issues and appropriate actions at the field office level
Strong planning and organizational skills: the ability to handle a multitude of tasks under given timeframes
Proficiency in computers, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and the internet
