Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network, is a not-for-profit Company Operating in Pakistan to provide primary and secondary health care to needy populations. Working in Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, other parts of NWFP, Punjab, Karachi and rural southern Sindh, AKHS, P operates 123 outlets, mainly family health centres and maternal and child health centres, together with seven small secondary units in the north of Pakistan and employs over 900 staff. Increasingly, AKHS,P is collaborating innovatively with international donors and the Government of Pakistan to improve the health of communities. At a time of great change and with many current initiatives and ambitions for the future, AKHS,P provides a uniquely challenging work environment.
THE POSITION:
Based in Karachi, directly reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board of Directors, the Chief Financial Officer will be a part of the Senior Management Team of AKHS,P with Corporate Functional Leads and Regional General Managers.
The CFO will advice the CEO on financial issues and will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the organisation's finances, annual budget along with managing the day to day financial functions of the Head Office. The CFO will functionally supervise the Finance Managers of the regions and will advice measures necessary to maintain high professional standards and organisation-wide control - it is envisaged that these links will be strengthened.
THE INDIVIDUAL:
A Qualified Accountant (Chartered or Cost Management) or an MBA with majors in Finance preferably 35 years of age or more with a least 8 years post qualification experience of corporate financial management preferably in a not-for-profit setting and sound track record of achievement. A highly competent professional, a team player with excellent interpersonal, leadership and decision making skills with the ability to work in a complex and demanding environment and willingness to travel to the furthest parts of Pakistan.
